Werner Designs

Update: We are sad to share that Barbara Werner passed away on September 30, 2019. Read her obituary here and an article on her in the Daily Californian.

From the 1960s-2019, Barbara K. Werner made critically-acclaimed bowls, dishes, and plates that were featured at numerous art shows on the West Coast of the United States.

She was especially known for her Georgia O'Keeffe-inspired large ceramic salad bowls and French-style plates modeled after Jean-Baptiste Astier de Villatte's famous place settings. As a child growing up in New Mexico, she was inspired by Maria Martinez of San Ildefonso into what developed into a life-long passion for pottery.

She created the majority of her pottery by hand in her studio in Berkeley and was a member of the Alvarado Road Artists Group in Berkeley, California, USA.

All ceramics are high-fire, lead free, and dishwasher/microwave safe. Handmade in California, USA
